2 Days Rwenzori trek is one of the shortest times one can opt for to explore part of Rwenzori mountains. During the hike, you will enjoy the breathtaking scenery of the virgin vegetation, as you enjoy the amazing sounds of river Mubuku and several bird species.

Itinerary
Day 1: Nyakalengija to Nyabitaba Camp (2651m.)
Have your breakfast at the lodge and proceed to Rwenzori Expeditions offices at Nyakalengijja where the hiking experience using the central circuit route starts from.
You need to arrive in the morning to allow ample time to rent equipment and meet your guides and porters and then start off the hike passing through farmland to the park boundary beyond which it follows a thick forest along the Mubuku River, crossing its Mahoma River tributary before starting a long, steep climb up onto a massive ridge to reach Nyabitaba hut.
During this part of the trip you may hear chimpanzee and see black and white colobus, blue monkey and the brilliantly colored Rwenzori turaco.
Overnight at Nyabitaba camp
The hike takes an average of 6 -7 hours and the hiking distance is 6.5 kilometers
Day 2: Descend back to Nyakalengijja and departure
Wake up early for your breakfast at the camp as you prepare for your descend back to Nyakalengijja, the starting point.
You can decide to first reach the Mahoma lake, the largest and most common lake on the mountains and then embark on the descend. Expect to arrive at the starting point in the afternoon hours, meet the driver for your transfer back to another destination.
