Uganda is a year-round destination. Its equatorial climate means that temperatures are consistent throughout the year. Uganda’s seasons are separated by varying levels of rainfall. March to May is the long rainy season, and October to November is the short rainy season.

The best time to visit Uganda on a Uganda safari that includes the climb to Rwenzoris and Chimpanzees in their prime destinations for the primate Trekking adventure. Uganda has two dry seasons and these are the best times to trek Rwenzori, chimpanzee trekking and gorilla trekking along the Wildlife watching in the various national parks of Uganda.

These dry seasons are between December and February, and between June and August, when conditions are particularly good for primate trekking to see mountain gorillas, Golden Monkey, chimpanzees.

Why recommend Dry Seasons for Primate Safaris & Rwenzori Climbing

Trekking conditions are easiest during the dry seasons of June to September and December to February. The clear, sunny weather should make your trek more enjoyable, but downpours are still possible due to Uganda’s tropical climate.
