Alexandra peak of Rwenzori mountains

Part of the Rwenzori Mountains National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site, Rwenzori Mountains, also known as the “Mountains of the Moon,” are located on the border between Uganda and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The range is renowned for its unique and diverse flora and fauna, as well as its dramatic, glacier-clad peaks. Among these peaks is Alexandra Peak, one of the notable summits on Mount Stanley, the highest massif on Rwenzori rangers.

Alexandra Peak stands at an elevation of approximately 5,091 meters (16,703 feet), making it one of the highest peaks in the Rwenzori Mountains. It is part of the Mount Stanley massif, the highest massif in the Rwenzori range that protects lots of summits including Margherita Peak, the highest at 5,109 meters (16,763 feet).

Alexandra Peak is often climbed in conjunction with Margherita Peak due to their proximity. During the hike, expect to experience challenging and varied terrain, including glaciers, snowfields, and rocky outcrops.
