3 Days Chimpanzees Safari in Kibale is one of the short tours to western Uganda for chimpanzee tracking an activity that will get you in contact with primates that share 99% DNA with human beings. Kibale national park
Located in the western part of Uganda, Kibale forest national park protects a moist evergreen rainforest stretching at an area of 766 square kilometers and elevating between 1,100 meters and 1,600 meters. Kibale is one of the last remaining expanses to contain both lowland and montane forests well-known for its population of habituated chimpanzees and other 12 primate species including Uganda mangabey, Uganda red colobus monkeys, black and white colobus and blue monkeys. Also, the park protects some mammals and over 325 bird species.

Day 1: Pick up and Transfer to Kibale forest
Depending on your location in Kampala, you start your 3 Days Chimpanzees safaris by meeting your guide/driver for a transfer to the home of primates – Kibale national park. This is 5 hours’ drive with and enroute lunch. Arrive in Fort portal early afternoon and proceed to your lodge for relaxation.

Day 2: Chimpanzee tracking and afternoon bigodi nature walk
Have your breakfast very early and later transfer to the park head office for a briefing about the endangered chimpanzees and later enter the forest with the guidance of a park ranger along with your tracking gears, packed water and snacks. This experience takes about 2-5 hours in search of the chimpanzees and once found, you will spend 1 hour viewing them while studying their behavior and taking pictures. After tracking, return to the lodge for lunch and refresh.
In the afternoon after lunch, connect for a nature walk in Bigodi wetland sanctuary where you will get to enjoy walking through a wetland with a variety of bird species. Later in the evening return to the lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight at as above
Day 3: Cultural experience and transfer to Entebbe and departure
Have early morning breakfast and drive to Amabeere Ga Nyina Mwiru caves where you will explore the caves that have a fascinating history and cultural experience. Also, explore some waterfalls and crater lakes and later drive back to the lodge for lunch. After, embark on a 5-6 hours’ drive back to Kampala and connect to Entebbe international airport to find your evening flight back home.
